As I said in the previous post, the Six Mile Cypress Slough in Ft Myers Florida is full of challenges for a photographer since there is a huge mix of all things swampy and natural. One of my favorite ways to tame things down is to use my Infrared camera and convert my photos to black and white. The dark tree trunks stand out more from the background and the multi colored algae on the surface of the water becomes more coherent.
The next photo is also an Infrared photo and was taken on a different area of the same pond.
This last photo is a close-up of a dying palm leaf taken in color and converted to black and white to show the texture and patterns. I like the way the palm tendrils frame the swirl on the right corner.
