I was amazed to find this trio of lotus leaves, so nicely arranged. IĀ could not have done it better myself. It’s an almost perfect overlapping of the leaves. To me, it’s the not so perfectness that makes the photo by creating tension and a little asymmetry. The water drops add dimension.
Usually the lotus leaves are in big bunches or piles like in the photo below. Both of these photos are taken with an infrared camera on bright days. The infrared shows off the texture of the leaves and lines aroundĀ them. The leaves are left suspended in black space and give a hyper real feeling.
